MARK'S STORY
Â
I hold a degree in Finance from BYU and an MBA in Individual Financial Planning. I’m a Certified Financial Planner™ and have taught finance at UNLV. For more than 25 years, I owned and operated a financial planning firm, helping hundreds of individuals and families gain clarity, take control of their finances, and reach their goals.
What I’ve learned over the years is that financial planning isn’t just about money—it’s about purpose. I’m passionate about helping people define their vision for life, align their finances with what matters most, and build a plan to get there.
On a personal note, my wife Lesly and I have been married for over 43 years. We have four children and five grandchildren, who continue to remind me what truly matters.
My Military Career
Â
I served for 30 years in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves, beginning my career as a Private and retiring as a Colonel. Over that time, I deployed to 10 countries, including combat zones in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, and Syria, and was honored to receive the Bronze Star.
One of the most meaningful moments of my career was deploying to Iraq alongside my oldest son, Steve. It was a powerful and unforgettable experience for me—though understandably a bit more stressful for Lesly.
